As the complexity and cost of oilfield drilling operations increases so the need for improved safety becomes ever more important. RCP are committed to improving drilling safety and have developed a series of anti-collision systems for the drilling derrick. The ACS-7000 collision warning system uses the latest technology to continually monitor drilling equipment within the derrick, and to warn if its position conflicts with the path of the travelling block assembly. Multiple items can be monitored; safe conditions are passively indicated to the driller while warnings of possible collision hazards are both audibly and visually presented.

The ACS is designed to seamlessly integrate with RCP’s TBM-6000 to create an anti-collision system capable of determining the position and motion of multiple items of drilling equipment within the derrick and of stopping the travelling block assembly in the correct position to avoid collisions. The system can be configured to also enable or inhibit specific actions by individual items of drilling equipment.

ACS systems are designed to interface with other RCP products. Integration with the RMS-1000 allows information to be displayed remotely and logged for later analysis. The ACS-7000 helps to eliminate costly collision damage, down-time and potential injury to personnel operating on the drill floor.
