The RCP CCC-1001 Choke Control Console provides hydraulic control of the drilling chokes on the mud manifold. The CCC-1001 is designed to give long and reliable service being built from high quality industrial components. An air driven rotary hydraulic pump produces oil pressure at a much higher volume than that of the more commonly used reciprocating pumps which are seen in conventional choke consoles. When combine with the generously sized hydraulic accumulator the console can repeatedly cycle the choke actuators from fully open to fully closed, and vice versa, in a matter of seconds; exceeding API requirements. Instrumentation is fitted to display the rig air pressure, hydraulic supply pressure, stand-pipe and choke manifold pressures, choke position and pump stroke counting to ensure precise monitoring during critical well control operations.
Although the standard console is fitted with comprehensive instrumentation and controls it can be further configured to suit any specific rig requirements and/or customer preference. It can also be fitted with a full colour LCD touch screen driven from our RMS-1000 (Rig Monitoring System) to provide full graphic display of other well control functions, drilling instrumentation and mud parameters including those relating to high pressure/high temperature drilling operations.
The CCC-1001 also features fascia mounted controls for positioning the two chokes, choke speed adjustment and hydraulic supply pressure adjustment. A battery powered digital stroke counter is also fitted for up to four mud pumps.
